The is No Light in Darkness by Claire Contreras

“I'm in love with you, Blake. I've been in love with you from the moment I saw you. I've been in love with you from the day I was born and possibly even before then. I belong to you. My body belongs to you. My heart belongs to you. Please let me make love to you." -Cole

“You're going to need a better reason this time. A real reason. And just to be clear, I don't give a fuck what it is because I am not going to let you go. Period.”-Cole

Ok, this is definitely my kind of read. It is just the perfect mix of romance, angst and suffering. Don’t get me wrong; this book is not a sad one by any means. But the characters come from a very weird and kinda sad background.
 photo TINLID15_zps31b72a10.jpg

I loved how they all ended up together and formed this great family. Even though the main characters are like the important part of the story, the rest of them were always there and bonded so well like a family. I fell like sometimes-actual blood related families don’t act like they do in this story, always ready to kill whatever was putting the other one in harm’s way.

The story goes back and forth between the past and the present, I’m not always a big fan of this but in this story I loved it. It helps me understand their relationship so much better and it kept me turning pages over and over again. I literally couldn’t stop.

It is a romance novel, but I feel like any person that loves suspense will also like this. The “big picture” of the story is base on this crime that happened a long time ago involving this couple. You find yourself like when you are watching an episode of CSI or something like that, and you just HAVE to find what happened and who did it! Because of this, I think a lot of friends of mine will love this story, it not a typical love story, its no the classic “I met you, looked into your eyes and fell in love, lets see how we can make this happen kinda book”. Don’t get me wrong, I love “those kind”, but it is certainly nice to have one like this.

Before I end this I needed to mention something BIG. COLE! Cole,Cole, Cole… I will NEVER get enough of him. WOW!What a Great book boyfriend he was. Even with all the “bad things”, GOSH! It is so easy to LOVE HIM. I loved him from the start. Blake (the girl) loved him from the start! You will ALL love him from the start. He is just so, PERFECT! He was a big part of why I loved this book so much! Ok enough… you get it,HE IS PERFECT!

So, yeah, go get you some and start reading this book. Oh, and I should mention there is a part 2 to this and believe when I tell you; you’ll be LOOOKING FORWARD TO IT. ;)

FRIEND-ZONED by Belle Aurora

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG ANOTHER SERIES THAT I WILL LOVE FOREVER!

I’m so happy I read this, I kept putting it off because so many books came out this month and, well, I got distracted. But nevertheless, I finished school and my friends were so excited about it that I said to myself, “Dude sit down and read this because its gonna be good!”. And it was, it sooo was.

DISCLAIMER: I know my friend just wrote a review about this book, but, this book is just that good that I deserves another review, because when you love something, you want more, right? ;)

I don’t know what I’ve been doing that this did not get to me sooner! I freaking love series or books like this one. I got so involved in the plot and I feel like I know every single one of the characters.

Here we have the story about Tina or should we say (Valentina Tomic) and she had a very sad background that she secretly protects. She really doesn’t want people to treat her different. Also she DOES NOT want anything to do with men or any kind of relationships whatsoever. When she sees Nik, across from the street of her store, she immediately notices his good looks. And then, peer-pressured by all of her coworkers, she sends him candy. At this I was like, “seriously, candy, for a man? What?”

When the finally met, he thought that this was just another one of those girls that was only after him for his money or sex …. But he never expected what she eventually said. She just wanted to be “friends”… “ yeah.. I TOTALLY BOUGHT THAT.. NOT!” Who would want to be just friends with this guy…

I loved Nik and Tina’s relationship and how it flourished throughout the story, and even though I got very frustrated at times, I have to say I like the whole friendship first. I personally think that he never treated her like a friend, but I liked how good they were to each other.

"You and me, Tina. It's gonna happen. Mark my words, baby." - Nik

ANYWAYS, that’s the basic plot of the book; I really don’t wanna give too much of it because I REALLY want everybody to read it NOW! That’s kinda of an order!
I now find myself desperately waiting, anxiously for the next book.
Emphasis on DESPERATELY!
I’m serious, I need it now! Please, please, please come out!

Also, I totally want to read more of this author! Just saying! :D

Friend-Zoned by Belle Aurora

"You and me, Tina. It's gonna happen. Mark my words, baby."

First of all: Russians....le sigh.
(I'm extremely partial to them, oh and Scots too.)

Valentina Tomic moves from California to New York to start a new life, to forget her broken heart; and NOT interested in having a relationship whatsoever. Everything goes according to plan, she opened a little boutique called "Safira" which is successful; and for the past 2 years, through her shop window, she stares at the man from across the street. THREE TIMES A DAY, whenever he came out for a smoke in front of the club "The White Rabbit", she would stare. He is an Adonis incarnate to say the least, but he never seemed to smile. So Tina cooked up a plan to make him do so. She anonymously sends him candy and a note to cheer him up. What she didn't expect was to find good looking man, with a killer smile, to be in her shop the very next morning asking who had sent the note to his boss! She was then taken to meet him: "Nikolai Leokov. Owner. The White Rabbit." (and ex-enforcer of the Russian mob!) After talking for a few minutes with the HOT AS SIN RUSSIAN/MEXICAN HUNK OF LOVE, she immediately warms up to him and asked to be friends.

Basically, he had just been sent to the FRIEND-ZONE wasteland. Every guy's horror story. He is shocked, and so the story begins.

Nik doesn't have girls as friends, he has fuck buddies; but when the little storm named Tina bursts into his life he can't help but like her. She is nice to a fault without a mean bone in her body (and with a mysterious past), which he is NOT used to. Tina and her wacky three best friends brighten his life with laughter; and along came his best friends who are just so increidibly smokin' nice too (I JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOKS AND READ THEIR STORIES!).

They slowly fall for each other of coarse, but both of them think the other isn't interested. So may the angst and the sexual tension commence! OMG you can feel they're attraction for one another but they don't do anything about it because "they're just friends".

UGH! ITS FRUSTRATING!!!
The book is written with both of their POVs so its much more interesting.

Its not until someone from Nik's mob past threatens Tina that he can't take it anymore and makes a move.
THANK CHRIST!

Crazy ex-girlfriend, a bastard ex-boyfriend, insane killing stalker obsessed with you, rivaled gangs, and being kidnapped...sigh, and all Tina wanted was a quiet life. We find out about Tina's broken past and Nik's dangerous life. They go through amazing trials but their love prevails.
SWEET STORY.

I read it in a day.
FIVE STARS!

This book had me smiling with its wit; laughing out loud; nervous; and then fanning myself with its steamy scenes.
It was an emotional roller coaster I'd gladly go through all over again.

---------------------------------

PS: this new series reminds me of:
"Wallbanger" by Alice Clayton;
the "Rock Chick" series (MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!) by Kristen Ashley;
and the "Neighbor from Hell" series by R.L. Mathewson

If you haven't read these books:
YOU HAVE NOT LIVED.
YOUR LIFE IS INCOMPLETE.
You will shed tears: of laughter, joy, and heartbreak.

This Girl by Colleen Hoover

OMG I HAVE NO WORDS!

 photo SIMON-COWELL-HAPPY-GIF.gif

I am SPEECHLESS

This was seriously perfection

Colleen Hoover is PERFECTION
She gets me Every Time! With her characters, with her quotes, with her slams, with EVERYTHING!

“Layken Cooper, I love you. I’ve loved you since the second I laid eyes on you and I haven’t stopped loving you for a second since.”-Will

I am sooooo excited for this book, I was before it came out, and I am still excited now! Its one of those things that you just want everybody to stop what they are doing and grab this book NOW! It filled my expectations and much more. It was everything I wanted it to be!

For those of you that have not read the Slammed series, I strongly recommend you start right now, I think they are a gem and even loving this 3rd one as much as I did, I still couldn’t decide which on I liked best. (more like LOVE best).

I say this because this book is DEFINITELY PART 3 of the series, it starts of right after Point of Retreat ended, and I know it marks that its supposed to be Slammed but in Will’s POV, it isn’t, I mean It is, but not quite what I expected. It takes place in the present, but it’s more like Will telling Lake his side of parts of the story. But very much of the book is on the present and what a GREAT ONE it is. (I kinda don’t wanna tell for those of you who have not read the series complete)

Enough said, his side of the story was sooooo BUTTERFLYING PERFECT! It made HIM butterflying perfect. I feel like Will Cooper is one the most selfless characters I’ve read in my life. HE IS SO GOOD! :’)

 photo excited.gif

“Wife,” I say, staring straight into her eyes. “Think what you want, but there isn’t a single woman in this whole damn universe that I could ever love like I love you.” – Will

“She deserves to be kissed by someone who loves her. Someone who spends every waking moment trying to do everything right by her. Someone who would rather die than see her hurt. She doesn't deserve to be kissed by anyone other than me.”-Will

I don’t know what is it with Colleen Hoover, but she makes you FEEL her characters SO MUCH! I mean every struggle, every laugh, every tear, you can feel it all. I was reading this book with my heart fluttering the whole time. It was a journey I wish I could take again for the first time! Every single line of this book was greatness!

Also I wanted to say, I loved that there was some old slams in there and also, the new ones… OMG the new ones, the last one, the ones with didn’t new that happened before… just OMG!!!

I needed this, I wish that every book that I’ve read and loved had a book like this one to let me see his POV of the story but also let me see the couple that I’ve fallen in love for being happy and normal.

OK I THINK I MADE MYSELF CLEAR, I LOVED IT, YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT, ITS BREATHTAKING AND BUTTERFLYING PERFECT

5 HUGE STARS

Fatal series (1-5) by Marie Force

  5 stars!!

Amazing books, amazing author!!!

I know I'm breaking a book-reviewer rule here not writing a review for each book of the series but I have my reasons:
 1. I'm lazy :D
 2. They are soo good that I didn't even stop between books to write about them. It was one after another. They are addictive, still feel the hangover.
 3. I'm lazy :p

Ok, so I fell in love with Marie Force's books when I first read The Wreck. Then the Treading Water Trilogy made me a Marie Force addict. I've read all her books and I love them all. This series was in my TBR list forever but I really don't know what made me wait so long to read them. Marie Force never disappoints. I've become a Fatal junkie. These books keep you reading -nonstop- until the end and then you want more, more and more. I have read similar books but in most of them I could determine who the killer was. In the Fatal series I NEVER figured out who the bad guy (or girl) was. I love the fact that at some point in the book you say Ha! I have this figured out, he/she killed her/him because this, this and that... yippie...

happy dance photo: tumblr_lhi45q7Jw31qcqljxo1_400.gif

...and guess what, you are so damn WRONG! She writes in a way that you can't pinpoint the mastermind behind the chaos until she decides it's time for you to know. Sometimes the bad guy comes out for the first time when you are more than half way through the book. Cool! ... I know. Let me just say I was never bored.

The main characters are Samantha Holland and Nick Cappuano. Sam is a badass, kickass Detective Sergeant, later Detective Lieutenant. She takes very seriously her job. Her life hasn't been easy; her mother left, her marriage failed, had four miscarriages, her quadriplegic father's shooter is nowhere to be found, and after a glorious night with Nick, she never heard or saw him, not until six years later when Nick’s friend Senator John O’Connor is murdered and she is in charge of the investigation. Nick is 6 feet and 4 inches of HOTNESS and also, he is his Senator friend’s chief of staff. His parents were both teenagers when they had him so his grandma took care of him in her way but something was missing and he found it when he spent a night with Sam. But Sam never returned his calls. After six years they reunite and the connection they felt years ago was there, buzzing and vibrating like time and distance never happened.

If you like thrillers and romance you are going to love this series. Sam may be a badass detective but when off duty, she enjoys wearing Manolos and Jimmy Choos and some Vera Wang. And you also are going to love the other characters. They are so funny!! I have to admit that ok, Nick is hot and I love his character but I have a soft spot for Freddie Cruz. He is effing PERFECT! He is funny and smart but very humble. And there is Chief Holland, Sam’s dad. The guy is quadriplegic but he’s still a brain. Gonzo, McBride, Malone, Farnsworth… funny and loyal. Stahl… HATER! Scotty... you gotta love him!

So, basically in the five books - and one novella - available, you’ll see how Sam and Nick’s relationship develops and faces new challenges in each book. Other characters, like Gonzo, Cruz and McBride tell their stories when their life suddenly changes. All of the books are so interesting. I don’t particularly enjoy politics or even try to understand it but Marie Force made it easy to read because she’s an amazing storyteller.

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!!!

PS. I didn't mention above the latest addition to the series... FBI Special Agent Avery Hill. *drool* I hope to "see" him more often from now on. <3

Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines:

HOLY MOLLY BATMAN!
Ok, I just need to get of my head that the last sentence in this book made me look like…..
 photo Wtf.gif

JUST SAYING!

“You are mine. Do you hear me? You are mine, Della Sloane. I will take care of you. Nothing is taking you away from me. Nothing.” - Woods

Anyways, let’s get back to the review (LOL)…
Another book by Abbi Glines that I absolutely adored! I only got to know her this year by reading the Too Far series and let me tell you, she has become one of my favorite authors. There is something about her books that keep you turning and turning the pages until it’s done. It has happened in every single one, I can’t seem to stop reading till it ends. So, mayor warning for future readers, DON’T READ THIS IF YOU HAVE SCHOOL, WORK, SHORES OR ANYTHING REMOTELY IMPORTANT TO DO, because you’ll end up not doing those.(GUILTY) -.-

This is the story about Woods, who we met in the Too Far books, and I don’t know about you, but I always wanted to know more about him. I sooo happy that he got his own story and by what I can see, his own series.I knew I liked Woods, I did not know I would like him sooo much! He was sooo kind, understanding, lovable, charming, sweet, UGH , you can’t get enough of him.

I also like to mention the girl in this story. Della comes with a crazy bad background. She has some deep secrets that she is not ready to tell. I’m not gonna get too much into them because I don’t wan’t to ruin anything but let’s just say I loved her! I loved how she was the victim in every way but never for one second acted like one. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some alpha male coming to the rescue, but with her I almost felt like she didn’t need one, even though she got one anyways ( a very hot one indeed) ;)

The book was a page turner for sure and filled with just enough angst!

Now, Lets talk a little more about WOODS WOODS WOODS!

HE WAS JUST SOOOO… HOT!

 photo fanning-self.gif

Ok, this was unexpected, I never though of woods as a dirty talker or nothing near that area. But believe me , HE WAS!, and Della got lost with him all the way. So enough said that this IS NOT a young adult book, or new adult book, this is very much ADULT .
But he is soooo SWOON
 photo b535f8d0-d9f4-4a15-9c92-942389778bef_zpsff420612.jpg

“Is she forever for you then? She’s worth throwing it all away?”…

“She’s it. No one else. She’s all I’m ever gonna want.”- Woods

You wont see the past characters in this one, but don’t worry, you wont miss them. Woods story was enough for me and I’m sure it will be for everyone, plus I like that the story was only of them, they definitely needed it.

This is my Cast for Woods and Della:

 photo images-2-1.jpeg

So, if you are in for a good treat, and for a quick read, but a GOOD one, grab this book, it will NOT fail you. And I strongly recommend the Too Far Series too. I absolutely ADORE THEM!

P.S: CRAPOLA! DID I MEANTION THE CLIFFHANGER, don’t worry it’s definetely a HEA, but still, the last sentence! I STILL CAN’T BELIVE IT ENDED LIKE THAT! I WANT MOREEEEEE!

Three Wishes by Kristen Ashley

Loving family, laughs, and magic. What more could a little girl ask for?
Well, bullied Lily had a genie and she wished for a guy!

At first, I didn't think I was going to like the story since the cover says its about a genie. I've never read a genie book, so the first thing that came to mind was Aladdin; but I forged on since it was written by K.A. and I LOVE HER BOOKS. Well, I'm glad I did because I really liked it!!! The book does not surround the life of the genie per se, he is NOT the main character. The story is a contemporary romance with a touch of quirky magic.

LILY JACOBS, small town girl from Indiana, made a wish I think the general female population would agree with. I CERTAINLY DO. It went like this:

"One day, I wish to find a man like in my books. He has to be just like in one of my books. And he has to love me, love me more than anything in the world. Most important of all he has to think I'm beautiful...."

and she goes ON AND ON, describing her perfectly HOT dream man.

At twenty-two, Lily in England, found her wish had come true by meeting mysterious NATHANIEL McALLISTER. Sweet baby Jesus, he in a word is LUSH! I could not begin to describe him and serve him justice because it would take this whole post to do so. Aside from everything the wish mentioned, I'm just going to give you some of the highlights which made me drool: Nate for starters, has an English accent, that any small town blue-eyed girl from Indiana would love, then:

"He had a wealth of thick, black hair that had just the barest blue sheen to make it interesting. He had strong features, firm jaw, powerful cheekbones and a sensual lower lip. He also had glittering, dark eyes that although he didn't know it (and wouldn't have cared if he did) were the avid topic of many women he knew. Fights even broke out, were his eyes so grey, they were nearly black or were they so blue they were nearly black?"

Nate and Lily

Oh and that he's a hot gazillionaire in a suit, who likes fast cars; BUT wears casual jeans, a t-shirt, and a leather jacket; which he gives her to wear while driving a MOTORCYCLE on THEIR FIRST DATEhas a heart of gold that survived his SHADY past that made him the hard working man he is today, doesn't hurt either. He is just sooo...swoon.

They fall in love but as always something horrible happens, and they're set apart. I blame Nate's evil siblings for causing so much unnecessary heart wrenching pain. THEY SHOULD BURN IN THE FIERY PITS OF HELL! (clears throat, and taking a deep cleansing breath....*)

The book takes an unexpected twist with the event of a tragic death and the appearance of a new character. They eventually meet nine years later, go through great "trials and tribulations", and then HE is trying to work things out, while SHE doesn't want anything to do with him. (Which I thought was insane, considering the circumstances. But of coarse these Kristen Ashley, sweet, lush, possessive, hot, ultra loving alpha males, we adore so much won't be denied!

image

Good for us readers, because the story becomes a whole lot more interesting with his wooing or should I say seduction, to win her trust and heart all over again. Throughout all of this drama, the genie Fazire, offers the story some comic relief, lives as a loving uncle figure towards Lily, and provides just enough silliness and magic to make this story truly unique and memorable. <3
