Oh mon Dieu!!! Did I read what I read?
I confirmed my suspicions… she is a BITCH! (*clears throat* pardon my French)So Leah is the main character in this book and also…. the main bitch.
Sorry sorry! I’ll back off… no pinky promises, though. :D
-----
Leah and Caleb are married, they just had a baby girl -Estella- but Mommy Dearest doesn’t want to be a mommy, she just wants to be a wife (tsk, tsk). In this book you get to know Leah, her upbringing, her insecurities and, unwillingly I must admit, that you can understand her better. Not enough to justify her behavior and actions but you can see her “reasons”. With terrible parents and friends she finds shelter in vanity and shallowness. And she shows how vain and shallow she is all right! Caleb is in a marriage he is constantly trying to accomplish, like a goal or something. He knows he’ll never love Leah the way he loves Olivia. But now he has something to live for and keep on, his daughter Estella. But everything has a limit and Caleb is already there and finally sees the reality of his marriage and who his wife really is. Woohoo!!!
Ok, so I
have to say I pity Leah in this book because she’s the ignored-rich-nobodylovesme
kind of woman. Never tried to be a better person and show them she was good
enough. She knew she was pretty and rejoiced in it. VAIN TO THE CORE!! But what really annoys me about her is that
she ignored the fact that she was second best. NEVER the first choice and she
settled just fine. Grrrrr!
**concern:
I still don’t know Noah well and he seems pretty good and I’m afraid what will
happen if Caleb & Olivia’s what if, becomes what is…
This book was
easy to read because I was prepared… kind of. There were scenes where I wanted
to throw and smash my NOOK . But really, I love the way it is written. How well
these characters are formed and the story itself is addictive. I am anxiously
waiting for book #3. Caleb’s POV
I can't believe you are reading this!
